What I’d fix first if your Pinterest SEO feels weak


Hi Reader,

Let’s say your Pinterest traffic feels slow. Not dead. Not terrible. Just slower than it should be.

This is usually the point where people start tweaking everything. They reorganize boards, rename things, move pins around, and hope one of those changes finally does something.

But most of the time, that’s not where I’d start.

If I were trying to improve Pinterest SEO, here’s the order I’d look at first:

1. Keyword targeting
Are you using search terms your audience is actually typing into Pinterest?

2. Pin titles
Are your titles specific enough to help Pinterest understand the topic quickly?

3. Pin descriptions
Are your descriptions reinforcing the topic with relevant language and context?

4. Content alignment
Does the pin clearly match the content it leads to?

5. Consistency
Are you publishing enough quality content over time for Pinterest to work with?

6. Boards
Are your boards covering your main topics on your website using strong keyword phrases?

Boards can help. They can organize your content and add context.

Your Pins and boards work together, but if traffic feels slower than it should, it helps to know exactly what’s out of alignment.
