If I were starting Pinterest over in 2026

Hey Reader,

January always comes with this weird mix of pressure and possibility.

Everyone is telling you to “start fresh,” “go all in,” or “fix everything you didn’t do last year.” And honestly, most of that just creates noise.

So instead of doing that, I sat down and asked myself a much simpler question:

If a friend came to me today and said, “I want to use Pinterest in 2026, but I don’t want to overcomplicate it,” what would I actually tell them?

Not what I’d teach in a workshop.
Not what I’d put in a slide deck.
What I’d say over coffee.

That’s what this video is.

It’s a reset.
A clean slate.
A reminder that Pinterest still works when you focus on the right things and stop chasing everything else.

If you’re starting fresh this month, or restarting after a quiet season, this is a good place to begin.

No pressure to “do it all.”
Just clarity on where to aim your energy next.

I’ll be back tomorrow with more, but for today, this is enough.

PS: A Note from Heather

This months theme is "starting fresh" and that is what you can expect from me this month.

I'm working on a brand new series for the YouTube channel where I teach Pinterest 101 with the goal of you learning how to DO Pinterest in videos that are 10 minutes.

I'm also working to update my Pin Bot as well as my Pinterest Strategy Guide. Both are going to be integral pieces of marketing education this year. One free, one is a one-time payment.

If you have a tutorial video you want me to make in regards to Pinterest please shoot me an email.

Happy New Year!

Hey Reader, If you’re only making one product Pin per offer, this might explain a lot. Most people design a beautiful Pin, publish it, and move on. Then they wonder why traffic is inconsistent or why saves don’t turn into clicks. Here’s the problem. Not every product Pin is meant to do the same job. Some Pins are meant to clarify. Some are meant to inspire. Some are meant to help people decide. In my newest YouTube video, I’m breaking down the three types of product Pins you should be making if...

Hey Reader, If you’ve ever looked at your Pinterest analytics and thought: “This Pin has huge impressions but no clicks,” or “This one has tons of saves but isn’t driving traffic,” your first instinct is probably to fix the Pin. New design. New copy. New keywords. And sometimes, yes — that is the issue. Sometimes it's lack of context in the text overlay or lack of design that catches the eye.
